Damage Processing Form

After sales services and Guarantee.

Because most of our work is repairing new or nearly new baths we are very aware that all baths suffer from wear and tear and accidental damage so we offer ongoing services to support those baths we have previously worked on for clients. Certain aspects of our work are covered by guarantee so if there is an issue we are responsible for we can attend to that too however our guarantee does not cover normal wear and tear and does not cover specific situations that would damage a normal new bath so it has conditions. Examples of these would be chipping from objects dropped in the bath, damage caused by the fact a bath does not fully drain but holds a puddle or where a bath mat has been left permanently in a bath or where a faulty tap has been left dripping to erode the bath surface.

Sometimes ware asked to carry out work that we do not recommend doing and have advised the client it will not be covered by guarantee. ‎It may be that the item is cracked or structurally damaged or be unstable in some way. This would be a situation where for this particular client the risk was worth taking and these are not covered by any guarantee. ‎

‎With every job that is covered by guarantee a group of stapled documents is provided to the client. These include the referenced numbered cleaning instuctions and guarantee document, receipt document and a colour printed complemets slip or card displaying our corporate identity.

Here is a photo of what it looks like:

You need to keep these safe as you will need them should your bath ever require attention. If you rent your property, copy the cleaning instructions - guarantee document for the tenant.

The most common issue with all baths is chipping of the surface due to something dropping on it. This is because it is a big object that often has items suspended above it or held above it. A feature of such an incident is that the damage does not necessary show up at the moment of impact therefore incidents and resultant damage do not always seem connected. Because of this clients often have no explanation for the damage. The impact can break the surface with the chip remaining in place - somtimes for months before acually coming out. This can happen with resurfaced baths and brand new baths.

Here are some images of restored surfaces that have been chipped. Baths get chipped often by shower heads and metal plugs.

All baths also suffer from lime scale, staining and many other issues including erosion and these issues are not covered by guarantee as these conditions damage new baths.

Some things are easy to sort out. For example if you have limescale you can remove this with a limescale remover. Our surface is limescale remover resistant so you can use things like Limelite etc. Limescale can also be chipped off with the edge of a credit card if it has built up too much. If your bath is marked this can usually be rubbed off with liquid Brasso on a cloth but make sure you bath has been properly cleaned per your cleaning instructions first. This means you should dry the bath then mist on a cleaner like Mr Muscle in such a way that a mist clings to the bath. Leave it to do its business for five minutes then rub off with a white fabric backed cleaning pad (not the green pan scourer type that lloks similar).

The other issues with baths that are not covered by guarantee:

If your bath does not have sufficient angle on it to fully drain - but holds a puddle on the base or it does not drain fully at the waste - this is not covered by the guarantee. Any bath with this issue can go wrong there. Baths that do not have sufficient run on them to drain should be adjusted so the water runs out of them.

If you leave a suckkered bath mat in your bath all the time it compresses water and soaps to the bath and sucks at the bath all the time and again this is something that would damage a new bath and many baths have needed restoration because of people leaving mats in baths. This is not covered.

If your bath is rusting around the waste fitting we can't guarantee against that.

Therefore please bare are in mind as mentioned above that your guarantee does not cover every thing that can possibly happen to a bath, it covers peeling and cracking only. Cracking looks like splits opening up in the surface and peeling is large sections of the surface coming away from the original. Small chips where the surface is otherwise good are not covered. Peeling and cracking are the only manifestations of something wrong with the way the bath was restored. We can only guarantee what we have done to the bath not the normal misadventures any bath can suffer from.

If there is a problem with your bath that is not covered by the guarantee we can give you advice and a cost on putting it right if we can.

To do so fill in the repair form at the bottom of the page and attach scans of your documents. If you are making a claim for repair under guarantee you must attach readable images of bonafied Diamond Gleam documentation to your repair form. These are the items mentioned above : Diamond Gleam receipt and guarantee document containing your baths process number (which we need for doing any work) and business card or complements slip. A hand written reciept from another company's that also has "Diamong Gleam" hand written on it with no guarante or business card is not acceptable. Similarly just a copy of an email proposing or accepting a date of a job is likewise not acceptable you need to provide documents that show legally that a transaction occurred between us and that it is a job that is actually covered by guarantee.

If you make a guarantee claim for something that is not covered by guarantee and call us out‎ you will be invoiced for our current call out charge for repair which is £168.00
